Peer Mentor Services Program
Applied as a leadership student in the Spring of 2011, and was accepted into the program in the fall of my sophomore year. I have taken on the role of facilitating and teaching as a Peer Mentor of the General Education Department to offer support for freshmen undergraduate students in their transitional journey from high school to college. I was one of ten Peer Mentors selected to travel and participate in Fukuoka Institute of Technology's Advanced Cultural and Education (ACE) Program in Japan. I currently serve as a Senior Peer Mentor, teaching and facilitating leadership training for Peer Mentors to further serve freshmen students. I will be serving as a Senior Peer Mentor until June 2013.

The Philosophy Society
Gained an appreciation for the diversity of ideas and values through my involvement in the Philosophy Society as current Secretary for two consecutive years. I design the club posters and events, and have also helped the Philosophy Department by serving as Chief Student Editor and Web designer for the Philosophy Department's annual publication, Reflections. Reflections includes original work from students studying Philosophy at CSUEB, majors, minors, and non-majors alike.

Since my freshman year of college, I have performed in over eleven productions at CSU East Bay. I have been nominated to represent CSU East Bay at the regional Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival. Some productions include "Bat Boy" as Mayor Maggie, "The Good Person of Setzuan" as Wang, the Waterseller, "I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change" as various roles, "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum", and "Scroogie: A Modern Musical Carol", to name a few. By being a part of the these productions, I wish to continue promoting the importance of the performing arts.
