Statement:

My name is Marie Ibarra. I am a concerned student of CSU East Bay, running for the position of ASI's Executive Vice President. My motivation to lead stems from my passion to help others and the gratification that comes from building meaningful and influential solutions for the betterment of the campus community.

With my experience and understanding of the Board of Directors' duties, as Executive Vice President, I will effectively maintain a positive, cohesive collaboration with the Board of Directors, emphasizing on accessibility, reliability, thoughtfulness, and thoroughness. I will work alongside the ASI Board of Directors, CSUEB administration, faculty, and staff to ensure that all decisions, initiatives, programs, and legislation reflect a CSUEB student-centered design thinking approach. By focusing on the needs of students and utilizing our resources, we will be able to offer solutions that effectively respond to student opinion and serve both our university's diverse and underrepresented community, which includes, but is not limited to: native, transfer, international, LGBTQ, and commuter students.

I hope to continue the work I have done, adhering to values of importance: leading with integrity, advocating as students for students by ensuring transparency, and encouraging innovate ideas in program implementation. There is much work to be done, but I am an agent of change, and I am ready to pay it forward.
